Leading by Example
There’s nothing more important in a young person’s life than having someone to look up to. Kids need to be cared for, truly listened to, championed, encouraged, and shown a different way forward—so they can understand their worth and begin to imagine a better future.
For that reason, ICI staff invest deeply in building safe, trusted, long-term relationships with kids who, in many cases, lack consistent and positive role models in their lives.

At ICI, staff ministry is rooted in faithful presence over time. Our team members don’t just run programs—they walk alongside students and families through everyday moments, building trust, offering guidance, and pointing to Christ through consistency and care.
This shared commitment shapes how we serve, how we support one another, and how we remain present in the neighborhoods where God has placed us.

Do you sense God calling you to walk faithfully with children and youth?
ICI offers part-time and full-time staff opportunities serving elementary, junior high, and high school students through life-on-life ministry. Staff members build consistent relationships, disciple youth, and use their unique gifts—from mentoring and administration to music and sports—to serve Christ and strengthen families.
ICI is a Christian nonprofit serving children and families in Chicago and Cicero through long-term, relationship-based ministry.
