Supporting Families Through Practical Care and Consistent Presence
ICI’s Food Assistance Program supports children and families facing food insecurity by meeting practical needs while building trust and long-term relationships. By providing food in moments of need, ICI is able to walk alongside families with care, dignity, and consistency.
Food assistance is not a stand-alone service—it is part of a broader commitment to knowing families, supporting them over time, and connecting them to additional programs and resources as needs arise.
How Food Assistance Works
Food Assistance at ICI takes several forms, depending on family needs, program schedules, and available resources. Support may include:
Food Pantry Access - Families receive food items to help supplement household groceries during times of need.
Food Distribution Events - Organized distributions that provide essential food items to families in the community.
Food Sent Home or Delivered - In some cases, food is sent home with students or delivered directly to families to ensure access and continuity of care.
Food assistance is offered in coordination with ICI programs and relationships, allowing staff to respond thoughtfully and personally to each situation.
Who Food Assistance Serves
Food Assistance primarily supports families already connected to ICI through after-school programs, camps, and other ministries. By meeting practical needs, ICI is able to strengthen trust and remove barriers that may prevent children from fully participating in programs.
While food assistance may begin in response to immediate need, it often opens the door to deeper connection and ongoing support.
Why Food Assistance Matters
Access to food is foundational to a child’s ability to learn, grow, and thrive. Through Food Assistance, families are supported in ways that:
Help meet essential nutritional needs
Ease financial strain during challenging seasons
Create stability for children and caregivers
Strengthen trust between families and ICI staff
For many families, food assistance becomes the first step in a longer relationship with ICI and its programs.
Faith Expressed Through Care
Food Assistance at ICI reflects a commitment to serve families with compassion, respect, and love. While practical in nature, this program is rooted in the belief that caring for physical needs is an important expression of faith lived out through action.
By showing up consistently and responding to real needs, ICI seeks to reflect Christ’s love in tangible ways.
